Pakistan v West Indies: West Indies win by one wicket after thrilling first Test match, 'People are sad, there is sorrow

West Indies defeated Pakistan by one wicket after a thrilling first Test match in Jamaica.

Chasing just 168 runs, the hero of the West Indies team was his fast bowler Kemar Roach who batted brilliantly and responsibly and scored 30 runs to give his team a one-wicket lead in the series. Lee

All four of his fast bowlers from Pakistan performed brilliantly but he stayed away from victory in the last session of the game due to several important catch drops by Pakistani fielders.

These drop catches also included at least two catches by Kemar Roach, one of which was dropped by Hassan Ali off Shaheen Afridi's ball when he was playing for 16 and was a very easy catch.

Apart from Kemar Roach for West Indies, Jermaine Blackwood was the best batsman and scored 55 runs.

Match scorecard

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took four wickets while Hassan Ali took three and Fahim Ashraf two.

Jaden Sales, 19, who is playing his second Test, was named man of the match for taking five wickets in the second innings and eight in the match.

It should be noted that only twice in the last ten years in Test matches has a team successfully defended a target of less than 170 in which Sri Lanka prevented Pakistan from scoring 135 runs in 2017 and before that in 2012. Pakistan defended 144 against England.

This was the 15th time in Test cricket that a team has won by one wicket. West Indies have done this feat three times and two of them were against Pakistan.
Compared to other days of the match, on the last night of the match, the fans kept the Twitter timeline warm with their comments on Pakistani social media.

Some users criticized Pakistan fielding, while others recalled Pakistan's various defeats in the past.

Hassan Cheema, who is associated with Islamabad United, writes after the defeat in the match, writing the dates of some of Pakistan's famous defeats, commenting that "people are sad, there is sorrow."

On the other hand, many users criticized Babar Azam's captaincy. User Surkhel says there was a very bad field placing, and then drop catches and weak captaincy.

Another user, Umair Aslam, writes: "You had 15 runs to defend. The players had to be brought in. Tailors had to be forced to play high to take risks. But no, Babar Azam kept everyone on the boundary.
