Pakistan v West Indies: On the first day of the first Test, the visitors were bowled out for 217, with Muhammad Abbas taking two wickets.
When a team's top order is sent back to the pavilion at the start of the first match of a two-Test series, its chances of winning seem slim. But here the competition is between Pakistan and West Indies and any manhunt can be expected in this match.
At the invitation of the West Indies in Kingston, Pakistan scored 217 runs in the first innings on Thursday, in response to which the hosts lost two wickets for just two runs by the end of the day. On the first day, West Indies played just four overs in which Pakistan kept the pressure on them and tried to return to the match.
Pakistan currently has a 215-run lead over the West Indies, partly due to an 85-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Fawad Alam and Faheem Ashraf.

Half of the team was back for 101 runs but Faheem Ashraf came to bat with Fawad Alam on the crease. Both first resisted but then increased the scoring rate.
The crucial 85-run partnership ended when Faheem Ashraf was run out for 44 after taking a wrong run. Jasin Holder bowled Fawad Alam for 56 after his half-century. While Pakistan's tail could not add more runs.
By the end of the day, the Pakistani bowlers had just four overs to spare in defense of their 217-run stand after three wickets by Sales and Holder.
